Pit Bull Pride

The Love Pit shined at the 2016 NTX Pit Bull Pride Festival in Fort Worth, TX.

Pit Bull Pride

The sun burned brightly at the Coyote Drive-In in Fort Worth on the last Sunday of October but it couldn’t outshine The Love Pit at the NTX Pit Bull Pride Festival!!! We joined hundreds of dog lovers to celebrate Pit Bull type dogs in the Metroplex. This event was created in celebration of “National Pit Bull Awareness Day”. The goal was to host a huge event that would help educate people about pit bull type dogs and work toward changing the public perception of them. All while helping to bring awareness of local organizations that support these dogs.

TLP brought out custom Pitbull Pride merchandise and adoptable dogs!! Frank even manned the TLP Kissing Booth, giving out the best slobbery kisses to festival goers! Not only did we have a blast celebrating pit bulls with fellow North Texans, but we had multiple applications submitted for our Bully Buddy program and adoptions! We are so thankful that the DFW Pit Crew and Pinups for Pitbulls put together such an awesome event!

Everyone was encouraged to dress up for the costume contest but it was TLP’s very own Squishy who stole the show winning “The Most Creative” award for his Hulk costume! Kudos to TLP team member and Squishy’s Bully Buddy, Meagan! Even we were impressed with his adorable green fur!

The Love Pit is also extremely proud that Tino won the festival’s “Best Rescue Transformation” contest. Tino was brought into the shelter in a bucket and was unable to use his hind legs. After pulling him from the shelter we were told that Tino was paralyzed and would never be able to use his hind legs again. We had him fitted for a custom wheelchair that supported his back legs, and soon after Tino was able to stand and walk on his own! TLP is so happy that our miracle boy’s journey could be celebrated among the other amazing transformation stories submitted to the contest!

Hello my name is Kathy Samano. I live in Mesquite Texas. I am a very proud owner of 2 pitbulls that we rescued from the streets. I have been looking for an organization that is for pitbulls owners. I am interested in this organization. I would like to learn more about the organization and volunteering. I work at a children’s shelter here in Garland. I know how important volunteering is. Our volunteers are wonderful and help us immensely with the children we have. Thank you for your time.
