Cupid Casino- A Night of Puppy Love
On February 10th, The Love Pit hosted a special fundraiser called Cupid Casino. The event location was donated by Out of the Garden in Grapevine. Attendees to the event received a wine glass with TLP’s brand and $500 dollars to play the casino games inside. Everything from Blackjack, Poker, Craps, and Roulette were all brought to you by Vegas Concepts.
Guests were able to bid on silent auction items which included everything from a basket full of dog treats, professional paintings, tattoos, horseback riding, and to many one of a kind gifts.
Guests also were able to enjoy great food donated by The Olive Garden, Cinnaholic, Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe and California Kitchen. And, of course, beer and wine were on hand courtesy of MartinHouse Brewery and wine.
While drinks were flowing, you could easily win or in some cases lose your money at the casino tables. The staff from Vegas Concepts was simply amazing. If you did not know how to play, they were there to assist you and teach you the game. People mingled among the tables and enjoyed themselves. The infamous Sweet Pea was manning the kissing booth ready to give out kisses to whoever paid a dollar. Let me tell you, she had plenty of kisses to hand out. And of course, you could have always cuddled up next to the Harry Potter puppies. These adorable pups were up for adoption and were ready to give lots of cuddles and play.
While the night wore on, there was a photographer taking professional shots in the photo booth area and walking around to take candid shots; all thanks to Haut Dog Pet Photography. Of course, there is no party unless there is music. The DJ from True DJ’s was spinning out classics from the 80’s while mixing it up with the 90’s and latest hits. If gambling and dancing isn’t your thing, you could have gotten a Henna tattoo from artist Kelly Jakubowski from Dream Team Art.
Once the casino tables closed, the Cupid Shuffle played, the dance floor filled. It stayed that way till the event ended and auction winners were announced along with the people who had the most chips from the tables. The top chip winner won tickets to the Fort Worth Symphony and dinner at the Bird Café. Other winners received; an overnight stay at Texas White House Bed and Breakfast, hot air balloon ride for two, Starlight flight and dinner at Kenny’s, Woodhouse Spa classics and Pro Core personal trainer for one month.
In all 103 people attended the event and The Love Pit was able to raise $5,993. Of course none of that could have happened without the donations and volunteer help. Thanks goes out to Cat Allen, Tristan Vallot, Heather Fallenlove, Amanda Brown, Kenny Geirl, Leslie Hawk, Sean Nicholas, Gabriel De Angelo, Brandy Russell. Sponsers for the event included; MartinHouse Brewery, Haute Dog Pet Photography, True DJ’s of Dallas, Red Gorman Insurance, Vegas Concepts, and Homes for Hounds Jennifer Minton Real Estate. Thank you all for volunteering your time and energy and for all the people who came out to make this a very special and memorable night.
If you were unfortunate enough to have missed this fundraiser, there will be plenty more and another Cupid Casino night next year on February 16th. Hope to see all of you there.
